Characterization of Coal Combustion Residues Using Transmission Electron Microscopy Technique
نویسندگان
چکیده
Indian coal-based thermal power stations produces huge amount of coal combustion residues. Proper disposal, management and utilization these ashes have always been a challenge before the plant people. In order to find out potential use residues one need explore look deeply into its various characteristic properties. present study residue samples from station eastern India were used for characterizing on basis Transmission Electron Microscopy technique. The micrographs showed that consisted all three viz. crystalline, polycrystalline amorphous phases. found consist single crystal, crystal with hexagonal structure, substances closed packed structure. Concentric circles as seen in diffraction pattern show presence samples. Presence plerosphere can also be some SEM well TEM images. XRD studies crystalline shows CCR are typically formed Si-Al-Fe system traces sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, sulphur titanium.

Pinpoint Microstructure Characterization Technique by Transmission Electron Microscopy
The advancement of transmission electron microscopy has made it possible to analyze the metallographic structure of steel products on a nanoscopic scale, which leads to the detail understanding of microstructures such as fine precipitates and grain boundaries. The application of the characteristic technology to commercial steel products requires consistency in the structural analysis of steel f...
متن کاملCharacterization by scanning transmission electron microscopy of silica particles from alveolar macrophages of coal miners.
The structure and composition of silica-rich particles recovered by lavage from the lungs of three active miners with different medical histories were studied using high-resolution electron microscopy and chemical microanalysis. The results are compared to the similarly determined structure and composition of respirable-size mineral particles obtained from roof-bolter dust-box samples from two ...
متن کاملPore Structure Characterization of Coal by Synchrotron Small-Angle X‐ray Scattering and Transmission Electron Microscopy
Coal is a porous medium with complex pore structures. The characteristics of the pore structure play an important role in various aspects of coal use, including extraction of methane from coal seams, CO2 sequestration in coal, and water purification by activated carbon. To describe comprehensively the pore structure of coal, we apply transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and synchrotron small-...
متن کاملBacteriophage Morphological Characterization by Using Transmission Electron Microscopy
Bacteriophages or more commonly “phages” are bacterial viruses. They are ubiquitous and good indicators of bacterial contaminations since their prevalence is high in those environments where their hosts are abundant. Phage classification is based on morphology and for this reason, even though it is considered an old technique, TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy) still plays a key role in the...
متن کاملElectron Diffraction Using Transmission Electron Microscopy
Electron diffraction via the transmission electron microscope is a powerful method for characterizing the structure of materials, including perfect crystals and defect structures. The advantages of electron diffraction over other methods, e.g., x-ray or neutron, arise from the extremely short wavelength (≈2 pm), the strong atomic scattering, and the ability to examine tiny volumes of matter (≈1...
